Christmas 2007: Allie, Stacey and Jim gave me a Gift Certificate for a 1 hour flight out of Meacham Airport in Ft. Worth, Texas at Skymavs Flight School.

This past Monday (May 19th 2008) I attended a 45-50 minutes presentation by my instructor, Brandon Price. We went over the pre-flight check list, aircraft/flight controls and engine controls. We boarded our Cessna 172 and I was allowed to taxi the aircraft to the run-up area, taxi onto the runway and take off. After about 50 minutes of me flying the plane, we returned and Brandon landed the plane. For 43 years I was required to fly in the cockpit of those big, shiny airplanes with the red, white and blue strips down the sides and I finally got the chance to fly one, even though it was much smaller.

I had a terrific experience at the controls in the cockpit!
